The drug lord who founded the Sinaloa cartel with Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has also been arrested in El Paso. Ismael Zambada Garcia, known as “El Mayo”, the leader of the largest cartel in Mexico, has been arrested. NBC News says Zambada founded the Sinaloa cartel with the now jailed “El Chapo” in 1987 and quickly became one of the DEA’s most wanted criminals. The agency had a 15-million dollar reward out for him as of 2021.
