Just Help 1 with The Union Rescue Mission

With over 75,000 people experiencing homelessness in our city, it can feel overwhelming. So many people are struggling with the high cost of living and soaring prices for basic necessities, scarce affordable housing, and limited access to healthcare and recovery programs. One missed paycheck can force many into homelessness and onto the streets.

But together, we can do something about it.

By just helping 1—one person, one family, one senior—you can make a lasting difference in someone’s life. By meeting someone’s basic needs—one meal, one night of shelter, one hot shower—you return their dignity and their humanity. By walking beside those who have lost so much – you help them break addictions, find renewed belief in self and others, reunite with families, find employment and a home.  It doesn’t take a lot to heal a soul, renew hope, and give someone desperate for change a second chance.

Just Help 1 with Union Rescue Mission is hosted by Mark Hood, CEO of Union Rescue Mission, and Frank Mottek, host of Mottek On Money. The show highlights stories of resilience, courage and transformation from Angelenos who have overcome homelessness, the supporters who lift them up, and the advocates working to create real change—1 life at a time.
