Palisades Fire Might Be Linked to New Year’s Day Blaze

Some Pacific Palisades residents are wondering if the devastating Palisades Fire is connected to a New Year’s Day blaze in the same area. ATF investigators continue to look at a hillside above a neighborhood in the Palisades Highlands area as a potential starting point for the horrific fire. Residents in the area say its possible the destructive January 7th fire could be a re-ignition of a brush fire that broke out in the same area in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
Some residents tell KABC-TV firefighters didn’t do a great job mopping up that ten-acre fire and wonder if it was completely out or if it was the starting point for the Palisades Fire once heavy winds hit the area six days later.
