The death toll in the Southern California wildfires is rising. The first death in the Palisades Fire has been confirmed, in addition to the five people killed in the Eaton Fire. Hundreds of thousands remain under evacuation orders or warnings as wildfires burn. The Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire both remain zero percent contained. The Los Angeles fire chief called the Palisades Fire “one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles.” The fires have destroyed thousands of structures.
