There’s still no motive behind an attack on a deaf and nonverbal man on a United Airlines flight from San Francisco International Airport to Dulles Monday. A witness describes the scene.
Chad Nelson is facing felony charges after repeatedly punching the victim while he slept. The incident happened about two hours after the flight took off Monday. Nelson was returning to his seat when he started to punch a passenger in the face and head. The attack lasted about one minute, and another passenger jumped in to help. Witnesses say blood was splattered onto the seat, wall and window. The victim says he’s never met nor seen Nelson prior to the attack. The FBI and FAA are investigating.
