Ysabel Jurado made the comment at a recent meeting with students at Cal State L.A. When asked about abolishing the police, Jurado replied with “What’s the rap verse? F- the police, that’s how I see ’em.” Jurado is running against incumbent Kevin de Leon, who resisted calls to resign after he was caught up in a leaked audio scandal in 2022. De Leon has accused Jurado of being a police abolitionist.
