Oakland NAACP Supporting Effort to Recall Mayor In November

The Oakland chapter of the NAACP is supporting efforts to remove the mayor from office.  They claim she lacks “the competency, credibility, judgment and ability to lead” the city, alleging she’s endangering residents.  This comes after Mayor Thao launched a campaign Sunday to keep her job and fight next month’s recall election.  She says crime is down 35-percent and her initiatives are starting to revive downtown.
