California Governor Gavin Newsom is vetoing a bill to increase accountability for state spending on the homeless crisis.  Newsom says the Republican bill is unnecessary because similar reporting laws are already in place.

The Democratic Governor’s administration has been criticized for being unable to show results from one-billion dollars released to local governments to establish shelters.  More than 181-thousand people are homeless in California, and about 80-percent of them are living on the street.
