After a summer that consistently featured no news, the last five days has been full of breaking news for the 49ers. Too much breaking news, in fact.

The Brandon Aiyuk months-long stalemate came to an official end on Thursday, as he inked a four-year $120 Million contract extension. $76 Million of that is guaranteed. On Tuesday morning, before the sun had even come up on the West Coast, Trent Williams ended his far less dramatic but far more important hold out. Although the contract details are either not finalized or not yet public, Williams will be a very rich 49er this season. Both are more than likely to suit up for the Niners’ season opener on Monday night against the Jets.

On a much more serious note, the Niners were in the center of some bad news that transcends football on Saturday afternoon. First round pick rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of a shooting stemming from an attempted robbery in Union Square. Miraculously, Pearsall not only survived the ordeal, but is in such good condition that he may be able to resume football activities sooner rather than later.

Considering that Pearsall was shot through the chest and that he was back at the facility within two days is nothing short of remarkable.

Tim Ryan joined Murph and Markus on Tuesday morning to resume his weekly in season spot on the sports leader. He discussed all of the news surrounding the Niners at the moment, and offered some unique perspective from inside the facility on how Pearsall is being received after his life threatening ordeal.

Not only is Pearsall in a hurry to return to the field, it sounds like he’ll get a hero’s welcome when he is back.

Ryan also offered some perspective on the Trent Williams hold out that confirmed what many Niners fans had felt about his saga. They were never going to let him get away.
