A Southern California city council will consider an ordinance that challenges the newly signed California law that bars public schools from forcing teachers to notify families about a student’s sexual orientation or gender identity without that student’s permission.  Mayor Gracey Van Der Mark wants to make Huntington Beach the first ‘parents’ right to know’ city.

Mayor Van Der Mark says we are not in a third-world country and should not have to protect children from our own government. The mayor says the 14th Amendment is on her side, saying it gives us the constitutional right to parent our children.
