States Brace For Hollywood Screenwriters Strike

(Hollywood, CA) — States are bracing for the economic impact caused by the Hollywood writers strike. The union and studios failed to agree on a new three-year contract and the Writers Guild of America announced the strike — effectively halting most productions. Aside from the obvious impact felt in Los Angeles and New York, states including New Mexico and Georgia that have seen a production boom will feel the effects in lost revenues. The four major late-night talk shows — Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Late Night With Seth Meyers” will go dark due to the strike.
