(Los Angeles, CA) — The population in various California counties have fluctuated greatly between July 2021 and July 2022. According to census data, some have grown, while others have shrunk, and some have reversed previous trends. Overall, California has lost almost one percent of its residents in that period of time. The takeaway from the latest census data is that Californians relocated quite a bit in response to COVID protocals, as well as things like prison closures. Counties like L.A. and San Francisco ahd the the biggest percentage of losses. But many places show the population is starting to resettle into the pre-pandemic status quo.
