Angelenos Paying $4.70 For Gasoline
(Los Angeles, CA) — It’s now eleven straight days that Los Angeles County’s gasoline prices have gone up. The Auto Club says the current local average cost of a gallon of self-serve regular is $4.70. That’s six cents more than last week’s average and 20 cents higher than last month’s price at the pump. The current cost is also a nickel-and-a-half lower than one year ago. The county’s gas prices have gone up 13 of the last 14 days. Triple “A” spokesman Doug Shupe says, “This week’s pump price increases appear to be mainly related to the refineries switching to summer-blend fuel, which pushed up wholesale prices since it is more expensive to produce.” The county’s average price reached a record high six dollars 49 cents on October 5th. The price of gas is also over $1.50 more since Biden came into office
