(San Francisco, CA) — A California Senator is reintroducing a bill to decriminalize psychedelics in the state. Democrat Scott Wiener made that announcement Monday while speaking in San Francisco. Weiner noted the drugs show “huge promise” when used for things like mental health issues or substance abuse. He specifically put a spotlight on veterans saying the high suicide rate of former members of the military is “unacceptable and avoidable.” Within the last couple years, Oregon and Colorado became the first two states in the U.S. to decriminalize psychedelics.
