California Remote Workers Fear Recession

(Los Angeles, CA) — Many work-from-home employees in California are fearful they’ll be the first to go if a recession hit. That’s according to a survey by software company Beautiful-dot-a-i. The LA Times reports the survey said 60-percent of managers would lay off remote workers first. One reason is it would be easier to let go of employees they rarely see. Even with the possibility of losing their job, about 45-percent of remote employees said they would take a pay cut if that meant keeping their remote status. Some experts believe surviving a layoff will come down to which employees are productive at their jobs, not where they’re doing their jobs from.
