Lost Luggage Piling Up

(Undated) — Mountains of misplaced luggage are piling up at U.S. airports as lost claims skyrocket. It’s the latest issue adding to the frustration of flyers who have already faced record numbers of flight cancellations and delays this summer. According to the most recent Air Travel Consumer Report, nearly 220-thousand bags were lost or damaged in April alone — a jump of 135-percent from the same month last year. The problem remains the same as airports and airlines don’t have the staff to handle the surge in passengers or their bags. Experts are recommending to avoid checking bags and travel with carry-ons instead.
