(Manhattan Beach, CA) — Los Angeles County officials are revealing the details of the plan to return some valuable beachfront property that was taken away from a Black couple almost 100 years ago. Charles and Willa Bruce built a resort for African Americans in the 1920s and the city of Manhattan Beach used eminent domain to take the land away. The County will pay two Bruce heirs 413-thousand dollars rent per year for two years and offer to pay the two great-grand children 20-million dollars for the property if they choose to sell.
