13-Year-Old Getting College Degree, Moving To PhD Program
(Minneapolis, MN) — A Minneapolis 13-year-old is becoming a college graduate. Elliott Tanner says after he gets his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Minnesota, he plans to move on to a PhD physics program in the fall. He’s one the youngest grads the university has seen, and has been an active in his studies through participating in undergraduate research and tutoring his peers. Alongside physics, Tanner says he also has a love for pop-culture, namely the show “Young Sheldon.” He told CBS Minnesota he even got the chance to meet the actor behind to young boy genius, Iain Armitage, and says the two of them have been friends since.
