Verizon Outage Impacting Central California Customers And Law Enforcement
(Fresno, CA) — An outage reported for Verizon is impacting customers and law enforcement agencies throughout Central California. Clovis police and the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office posted information on social media on how residents can request help. The Mariposa County Sheriff’s office says residents can still text 911 to get in contact with authorities. Clovis Police says while 911 still works, the department cannot return the call if someone hangs up during a cell phone call with police. There is no information on how long the outage will last.
(Los Angeles, CA) — Verizon admits many cell phone customers in the Western United States are experiencing outages. It started just before noon Pacific Time. That’s when Verizon customers and cell providers who use Verizon cell towers started seeing outages. Many reports came from Seattle, Washington and California’s Los Angeles and Sacramento. In a statement, Verizon says it’s working to figure out what’s going wrong.
