Azusa Police Union Says Top Official In L.A. County D.A.’s Office Threatened Retaliation

(Azusa, CA) — The Azusa police union claims one of the top officials with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office threatened retaliation against one of its officers. This comes after D.A. George Gascon’s chief of staff, Joseph Iniguez , was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication in Azusa on December 11th. The Azusa Police Officers Association says, as he was being released from jail, Iniguez threatened to put the arresting officer on the county’s “Brady List.” The D.A.’s office uses that list to keep track of dishonest cops. Iniguez filed a complaint against the arresting officer, and tells the L.A. Times police were upset because he was filming a traffic stop.
