(Los Angeles, CA) — UCLA is increasing staffing at Pauley Pavilion because of recent crowd surge concerns. This decision comes after a crowd surge prior to Friday night’s game against Villanova. Fans had waited in line for hours and when the ticketing app that includes vaccine verification malfunctioned, groups began to cut in line. The event prompted fears of the situation that occurred at Astroworld on November 5th, in which ten people were killed. There were no injuries reported, but the university will have additional staff on hand for all future men’s basketball games this season.
