(Washington, DC) — The federal prosecutor looking into the origins of the Russia-Trump investigation is handing down another indictment. A researcher who helped craft the debunked Steele Dossier was arrested. The dossier–paid for largely by the Clinton campaign –claimed without foundation, alleged ties between Russia and former President Trump to help him win the 2016 election. That document was used by the FBI to get a warrant to wiretap a Trump campaign aide. Earlier this year, a lawyer with ties to the Democratic Party was arrested for allegedly making false statements to the FBI about a possible connection between the Trump Organization and Russia.
