(Cleveland, OH) — The all-girl group that got its start performing in clubs along the Sunset Strip is the newest member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Go-Gos were inducted Saturday night and lead singer Belinda Carlisle says it’s hard to believe the band went from being part of L.A.’s punk scene to early MTV stars in a short amount of time.
Original Go-Gos members Jane Wiedlin, Kathy Valentine, Charlotte Caffey and Gina Schock were also on hand for the induction ceremonies. The group is best known for the songs "Our Lips Are Sealed," "Vacation," "Head Over Heels" and "We Got the Beat." A Broadway musical featuring Go-Go's songs ran at the Hudson Theatre in 2018 and 2019.
