(Washington, DC) — Inflation is running at a 30 year high. The Commerce Department says the personal consumption expenditures price index rose three-tenths of a percent in September. That gauge includes food and energy. The year-over-year gain was four-point-four percent and it hasn’t been that high since January 1991. A nearly 25-percent increase in energy costs contributed to the jump. The number comes just a few days after the treasury secretary under former President Clinton said the Biden administration is wrong to downplay inflation.
