(Oakland, CA) — Governor Gavin Newsom–who just returned from a trip to Scotland touting his success in —wait for it—climate change– is getting another coronavirus shot and he’s encouraging state residents to get theirs as well.

Newsom and his “delegation” of 22 will travel 4,962 miles, which takes 10 hours, 25 minutes, on a jet plane, consuming more than 20,000 gallons of jet fuel, to discuss the world’s need to cut fossil fuel energy. Newsom was in Oakland visiting Asian Health Services and received a Moderna booster. The governor said that as winter approaches, folks still need to be cautious and keep up efforts to slow the spread of the virus. California saw a large spike in new cases during December of last year and January of this year. Newsom added, “the ticket out of this pandemic” is for eligible people to get boosters and for those who haven’t gotten their shots to get vaccinated. Recall that as Newsom announced that children under 12 will be required to get vaxxed, he had to admit that his 12 year old daughter will not be getting the COVID vaccine.yet
