(Los Angeles, CA) — The powerful storms pummeling the Southland have been beneficial, but not nearly enough to relieve California’s drought situation. That’s according to a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Weather expert Mark Jackson told a local TV station yesterday that the state will need multiple storms like this one to pull out of the drought. Jackson suggested the drought situation is so dire it could take two full wet winter seasons to come out of it. The meteorologist also said the storm “may have paused” Southern California’s wildfire season, but likely not for long, adding SoCal probably needs five to eight inches of rain to end the fire season.
