L.A. Officials Work To Crack Down On Street Racing, Finally.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles officials are cracking down on street racing. If the motion approved today is enacted, it would allow the city to prosecute people advertising underground races on social media and target those who organize and promote the races. After the city attorney completes a full report on how realistic the ordinance is, the council will then reconsider the matter and decide whether to move forward. The Los Angeles Police Department says as of July the number of races and street takeovers across L.A. had jumped 27-percent this year. LAPD investigators say at least three deaths can be traced back to these dangerous gatherings.
