Increased Fire Danger To SoCal Area
(Los Angeles, CA) — A fall heat wave paired with gusty winds is bringing on an increased level of fire danger to Southern California areas. According to the National Weather Service, returning offshore winds and high pressure building to the east are responsible for the warmer, drier air mass moving into the region. NWS Los Angeles tweeted the 30 to 45 mile-per-hour winds will develop over L.A. and Ventura Counties today. The heat wave is bringing summer-like hot and dry weather, causing elevated to near critical fire conditions through this weekend.
