Federal Appeals Court Vacates Lower Court LA Homeless Ruling
(Los Angeles, CA) — A controversial homeless order is being vacated by a federal appeals court. A panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals says the City and County of Los Angeles cannot be forced to house thousands of homeless people by next month. The original order by an L.A. federal judge would have forced those local governments to provide shelter for people living in the so-called Skid Row area near downtown L.A. The appeals court says the lower court “abused its discretion”.
