(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles is officially aiming to transition to 100-percent renewable energy by 2035. Tuesday, the city council voted to issue a renewable energy directive to the Department of Water and Power, and to develop a plan to create nearly ten-thousand “green” jobs. The previous deadline was 2045. The DWP has also been directed to report on the progress of its transition to renewable energy every six months. The investment is expected to cost between 57 and 87-billion-dollars.
