(Austin, TX) — A Texas state representative wants the courts to decide who gets suspended from social media. Deer Park Republican Briscoe Cain suggested to a House committee today that judges are better arbiters of suspensions. He cited his six-month Twitter banishment from 2019 as reason why the courts should be involved. Cain was given the suspension for telling then-Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke that “My AR is ready for you,” after O’Rourke backed a mandatory gun buyback program. Texas is considering social media regulations.
