(Washington, DC) — The Capitol Police officer who shot a woman during the U.S. Capitol attack earlier this year is being formally exonerated. NBC News says that decision was announced in a department memo. Ashli Babbitt died after being shot during the January 6th attack and the investigation was done out of public view. The Justice Department already announced the officer wouldn’t face charges, but this case is not over. A ten million dollar civil suit is expected.
