(Seattle, WA) — Starbucks is reaching an agreement with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission following allegations of racial discrimination with store-level promotions. Starbucks will make a number of changes to make its promotion process be more transparent and formal. Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said they will focus more on structural changes to ensure that every employee knows about promotion opportunities. Store managers will no longer be able to promote workers outside of the formal promotion framework and the company is rolling out new training for leadership.
