(Undated) — America’s newest military service is out with its ranks. A Friday memo shows the Space Force structure will be similar to the Air Force, with the exception of the first five ranks for enlisted guardians. They will be referred to as specialists instead of airmen, and just sergeant instead of staff sergeant. The Space Force’s officer rank structure will be the same as the Air Force, Army and Marines. This comes after some advocated for the structure to mirror that of the Navy’s, including “Star Trek” actor William Shatner. The ranks take effect February 1st.
