(Washington, DC) — Slightly fewer Americans are signing contracts to buy existing homes. The National Association of Realtors pending home sales index fell three-tenths of a percent in December for its fourth straight monthly decline. Analysts say record high prices and low supply are putting a damper on otherwise booming sales. Still, all four regions of the country experienced double-digit gains in pending home sales compared to a year ago.
