(Los Angeles, CA) — Law enforcement leaders have reported no credible threats to the Los Angeles area ahead of today\’s presidential inauguration and the swearing in of Kamala Harris, former U.S. senator from California. Yesterday, Mayor Eric Garcetti said authorities will remain vigilant all week.

Both the LAPD and County Sheriff\’s Department will be beefing up patrols, and each will have all sworn officers and deputies in uniform ready to respond to possible disturbances today. The FBI also says no rioting or violence is expected in the Southern California area, but they\’ll continue to monitor the situation closely. LAPD Chief Michel [[ Michael ]] Moore confirms three permitted demonstrations are planned for today at sites like City Hall and MacArthur Park, but all are expected to remain peaceful. There are also 200 National Guard troops on standby at a federal training base in Los Alamitos.
