President Biden Takes Actions To Reverse Trump Administration Rules On Fuel Standards

(Washington, D.C.) — President Biden is taking quick action to reverse a Trump-era rule affecting fuel standards in California. Biden signed an executive order today directing his staff to consider revising rules on gas mileage and pollution levels. Opposition to the Trump orders is growing. On Tuesday, Governor Gavin Newsom sent a letter to Biden requesting that California be allowed to set its own fuel and emission standards. In late November, General Motors CEO Mary Barra, after Trump was not re-elected, pulled support for Trump’s legal battle against California and 22 other states.
