Powerful, Santa Ana winds are creating dangerous driving conditions across Southern California.

Wind gusts in some parts of Orange, Riverside and San Diego Counties have topped hurricane-force. On the Cajon Pass, at least one big rig was knocked over along I-15. As he was hauling the rig away, tow truck driver Jay Strawderman told KTLA-5 the long-haul driver was trying to do the right thing.

”He was trying to get over, off the freeway, and just couldn’t get there quick enough.”

Many other long-haul truckers did in fact pull over – which he recommends for other drivers.

“Just don’t take the chance. It’s very dangerous.”

It’s also a good idea to tie down items at home that might blow away or get knocked over.
