According to the New York Times, the deal will allow the disgraced Hollywood mogul to avoid paying out with his own money or admitting wrongdoing. If the settlement is finalized by a court, it would reportedly be paid out by insurance companies for the bankrupt Weinstein Company. Separate criminal proceedings continue against the 67-year-old. He’s formally accused of rape and sexual assault against two women. Additionally, a lawsuit by actress Ashley Judd will keep moving forward. Weinstein maintains his innocence.
