The kids at Kenter Canyon Elementary School raised 35-hundred dollars and bought new gear bags for each firefighter at their local station. Dozens of parents and firefighters took part in a Thursday ceremony where the students, decked out in plastic firefighter helmets, took turns expressing their gratitude.

”Without the service of these heros the situations could have been more devastating than it was.”

”Thank you, firefighters!”

Their school in Brentwood was one of many campuses that had to evacuate. The Getty Fire burned almost 750 acres and damaged or destroyed 25 homes in west LA. Five firefighters suffered minor injuries.
