The Getty Fire is now over 600 acres. 11-hundred firefighters are battling the flames west of the 405. At least 13 structures are damaged or destroyed. 10-thousand more are in danger.

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti says firefighters are doing their best while the winds are light.

”We hope to make deep progress over the next 24 hours, because we need that progress before Wednesday. Wednesday is when we have those Santa Anas blowing even stronger.”

LA Fire Department spokesman Jacob Raabe says anyone even close to the Santa Monica mountains need to be on guard for the next few days.

”Just be aware that, if you don’t see fire, you don’t see smoke, that doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods. So, please listen to the radio.”

And remember, poor air quality might be the biggest hazard for people not even near the flames.
