Dozens of people gathered last night outside Newport Beach City Hall saying if the homeless shelter is built, it will turn that part of the city into the next Skid Row. The city declared a homeless crisis last month, and demonstrators argue that in a town of nearly 90 thousand, less than 100 homeless people doesn’t not constitute a crisis. The protesters say they intend to sue if the city moves forward with the homeless shelter plans.
