The bullets started flying last night in Whittier after they came across a man holding a large knife to a woman believed to be a family member. When the deputies started ordering the man to drop the weapon, he reportedly turned his attention to the deputies and let the woman go. Officials say the man still had the knife in his hand when he charged deputies. Three out of the four deputies on scene opened fire, killing him. The shooting remains under investigation.
