The Century Huntington Beach theater stopped showing movies after a credible threat that was related to the “Joker” film was discovered. The Huntington Beach police have not disclosed the nature of the threat that they received on Wednesday. While the theater is showing movies, a heavy police presence is expected all weekend. Nationwide, there are concerns that graphic violence in the “Joker” might inspire copycats.
