That brush fire in Murrieta continue to grow beyond 14-acres as nervous homeowners watch flames get closer to their neighborhoods.

The fire is being fed by dry brush and gusts of wind. Many residents have already evacuated and many are getting ready to flee. David Robinson tells KTLA 5 it’s hard to watch.

”You know we’ve been here ten years and we kind of anticipated this happening at some point. It’s been tough, actually, to watch it happen, watch it unfold.”

The flames began to grow in size at about noon on Thursday as the fire got closer to thousands of homes. Cal Fire says 800 firefighters are on site.
