The pain wasn’t just because many OC schools were starting – it was all the stingrays. Beaches up and down the coast reported over 500 stingray injuries over the three-day weekend. Most of the incidents happened along the coast of Huntington Beach and Seal Beach. Life guards say low tides in the afternoon probably brought more stingrays into shallow water. They say you should always shuffle your feet while walking in the surf.
