Crews have been removing the catwalks along the signs and installing new signs without catwalks. Caltrans says people have been using the catwalks for stunts, most likely for some sort internet fame, and also taggers use them to mark their territory. The new signs without the catwalks are also more reflective and have been installed along the 210 freeway. Officials say the “not so easy to access freeway signs” are becoming a trend outside on L.A. County.
