There’s a homeless clean-up going on today in downtown Los Angeles but some residents say it’s too little, too late.

Homeless people in the downtown Civic Center area are being told to move their stuff so the sanitation department can come through and conduct a major cleaning. But residents like Peter Rivas tell KTLA-5 that he’s not impressed.

“This is disgraceful. All these buildings going up – hundreds of millions of dollars, and we can’t help the homeless? How stupid are we?”

Signs were posted telling homeless people to remove personal items by 8 am Monday. Items left behind will be collected by the city. If an item doesn’t pose a health hazard or include illegal items, it will be held by the city for 90 days.
