Political analyst: GOP in O.C. needs to learn from blue state Republican winners

It was curtains for the Orange Curtain in the midterm elections, but a political expert says there is a way forward for future Republican candidates in the Golden State.

Dan Schnur, political expert and USC journalism professor says the midterms showed how GOP candidates can win over more voters in blue states

“What Baker has done, what Hogan’s done in Maryland, what other blue state Republicans have done is said, ‘We are fiscally conservative, we are tough on crime Republicans, however we do approach this range of cultural and social issues in a different way than the national party does.’ The hard decision for California Republicans is whether to make that same decision or not.  Not just on abortion, not just on same-sex marriage, but possibly, most challenging, on the issue of immigration.”

Dan Schnur was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
