The shooting in at the synagogue in Pittsburgh is prompting many Americans to examine their values.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti says we have to have the courage to speak up for our nation’s core values of inclusion and tolerance.
”You absolutely have to call out friends, to call out people that you support, and it doesn’t mean that you are betraying anybody. It means that you are living up to your values as an American.”
He said the shooter in Pittsburgh appears to have been motivated by irrational fear.
”We see a very clear connection, in this case, between what Jewish activists groups do to support refugees and this guy deciding that that was somehow a threat to him.”
Mayor Garcetti was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
